Tony and I decided to take a spin about Ottawa's Green Belt in our last few days of holiday before our respective terms began. The green belt is this horseshoe of foresty bush running through Ottawa. I believe it is intended for pollution reduction or something, but don't quote me on that. Anyway, it was a frosty day, the trail slippy with ice, and my hands were mighty numb by the hike's end, but it was a good day and nice to get into some kind of foresty bit :)
Our icy trail. Yup, basically a solid sheet of ice. It was fun :)
Some frozen floody bits
This was at a fairly random part of the trail that most folks would likely miss.
We, quite luckily, caught it :)
A typical view of Tony :)
The mighty Ottawa River coming to a slow and icy halt. This part of the trail was COLD, but still fun :)
And some fairly random graffiti.
All in all, a good day. I dare say there will be other Green Belty hikes to come :)
